Gorge
BY John Repp
Under boot soles,
the mesa’s grit
& right here,
the gorge
down which we
switchback in & out
of sublime
shade to the river
shrunk to a green
rush & burble,
but no less
cold for that.
John Repp's poems have appeared in recent issues of Poetry, Theodate, Whirlwind Review, and Slant. His most recent collection is Big Conneautee (Seven Kitchens Press Editors' Series, 2010).
